Christmas for Payatas

Tonight was a very quiet night. I had never enjoy such a quiet night for a long time. Maybe I just need time to slowly adapt to my new life here in the rapidly growing city of Kuala Lumpur. As usual, I was browsing through a few blogs and surfing the web looking for something to catch my attention. These days i found a lot of blogs talking about how to earn money and how to spend money wisely. I thought for a while. Can we spend money and at the same time be wise? Is it to buy a cheaper yet presentable gift since Christmas is just around the corner? Then suddenly, I begun to wonder, do people actually appreciate the gifts we gave them? Hmm...after that i continued browsing around until I saw this particular article that caught my attention. It was about a charity drive to collect fund for the Payatas to celebrate Christmas.

http://www.christmasforpayatas.com/

At that moment, I seriously had no idea what is Payatas. I know Nasi Pataya but never had I heard about Payatas. As a curious person in nature, I decided to google it. After reading what I found in the web, i felt sorry for them but it wasn't until I saw this youtube video. Believe it or not, after watching that video, I could feel tears rolling down my cheek. It was then that I decided to write it here hopefully to lend a helping hand in bringing Christmas for Payatas.

Some of you might have heard of them but to be honest, I've never heard about them. There is this place in The Philippines which is located in the suburbs of Manila, 20km away from the central area of the city known as the Payatas dump. It is at a place called the Smoky Valley after Smoky Mountain, the biggest garbage dump in the Philippines and one of the three biggest slums in the world. Smoky Mountain was dismantled by the government in 1995. For over 35 years, that place had been a heart wrenching place which remind us of the desperate conditions of humanity. Smokey Valley is 70 ha large where 3,000 ton of garbage is brought in every day. Around Smokey Valley, approximately 92,000 scavengers (18,000 families) live.

scavengers of Payatas collecting rubbish for a living

Something tragical incident happened on 10 July 2000, after a period of torrential rain, a trashslide occurred in the Payatas dump claiming over 200 lives, including many children. The victims were the scavengers and sorters at the dump site and those living nearby. After that incident, authorities instituted better management of the site but still many continued to depend on scavenging because that's the only way for them to survive for the day.

From the video, I could see that the people of Payatas were actually running after an incoming rubbish truck just to collect the fresh rubbish that just arrived hoping to find something valuable to sell so that they could buy food for the day. Even children as young as 4 years old would be there helping their parents to collect valuable rubbish because that remains their only means of livelihood. Therefore, many of them were unable to go to school. Due to the harsh living conditions, many children suffer from malnutrition and skin diseases. The infant mortality rate is as high as 30%. They lived and stayed next to the rubbish dump and the children spent hours under the hot sun trying to find food. I can see that they felt so happy to find sausages from the rubbish. Can you tell me what would you do if you found overdue sausages in your fridge? If you saw the video, can you see how contented they were to find a half eaten sausage in the dump? Moreover, can you imagine sleeping at a rubbish dump? Now you tell me, how far is your car from the rubbish truck when you saw one stopping right in front of you at the traffic light. Let me tell you how far I was last saturday. I was roughly 7-8 meters away. Can you imagine at Payatas, they were actually competing against each other to see who reaches the rubbish truck first? And that is not only the adult, the children did the same.

Children of Payatas

There are over 20,000 children living on the Smokey Mountain. This foundation hopes to be able to feed 5000- 10000 children everyday. Besides that, this foundation is also trying to bring education for the children. Only by education that they can move away from this scavenging lifestyle and improve on their life. In response to the plight of these children, Totedaddy.com is working with Lighthouse Center For Children Foundation to bring a little cheer to the children this Christmas. Other supporters includes FusionExcel International, which has previously donated funds towards this worthy initiative. The purpose of this charity drive is to bring Christmas for Payatas.

This charity drive, Christmas for Payatas is actually supported by a lot of celebrities. I even saw some of our childhood football stars Lee Sharpe from Manchester United and Ray Parlour from Arsenal. Other celebrities includes Philippines Basketball Legends Allan Caidic, Samboy Lim and Alvin Patrimonio.

Christmas is a time where everyone should be happily enjoying themselves with their family and friends. I too hope that the Payatas will enjoy a delightful Christmas this year. If I had the ability to donate, I will definitely do so but as I just moved into the busy city, I'm still struggling to meet ends. For you people out there who enjoy reading my blogs, please do lend an arm for the Payatas so that they could enjoy a peace and pleasant Christmas. I believe it would brighten up the day in which they need not go to the rubbish dump to collect rubbish just to earn a living for that day.

You just need to click here and donate. It's that easy. For every donation, you actually planted a seed of happiness in each and every resident of Payatas. I, hereby, bravely voluntarily thanking all you generous people on behalf of the children of Payatas.

Energetic volunteers and children of Payatas

Here is the video that touches deep enough to make a big man like me rolled a tear down the cheek.

Here's another video by the supporters of Christmas for Payatas.

"There are days when we don't get anything and there's nothing we can do."

"If there is nothing to eat, we just to to sleep"

"That's why i wish that those who can afford would help us"

"A lot of people oppress us"

"Some people residing near here call us names"

"They call us Garbage People when they saw my parents scavenging here"

"But I'm hurt. But I say to them that even if we are only scavengers, at least we are not thieves"

"But what we are doing is still honorable"

Here's a song for the children of Payatas.

Hot Sex Video (droooool)

I realise that a lot of my post these days are very personal. It is just some minor updates of my daily life. I know the title for this post is catchy. I purposely make a catchy title to mislead you all. No. Don't worry. You are not going to witness my sex video. Maybe someday if i censored my face. Aiks....talk too much d. LOL!!!

Anyway, i found out that sex video had been a trend recently. But I have got nothing against it. Not that i enjoy watching it because most of the videos are so blur that you can't even see their faces. You can only see 2 person movie. Most of the time, guys will be straining their eyes trying to find the eye candy in which most of the time we end up disappointed because we couldn't identify which is the black dot that we are looking for.

Few years back, this girl name Tammy from Singapore gained a lot of speculation because her sex video were leaked to the public. But all this while, there were a lot of sex tape in the web. The sex video is unlimited in the web. In my opinion, if you watched 10 sex videos a day, in 10 years time, you might not even have watched 5% of the total sex video available in the web.

What so big deal with sex tape? Even celebrities in the western countries had their sex tape all over the web. Earlier this year, in the year 2008, Edison Chan made into the headlines with a cartful of nude sex photo of him and other female celebrities, namely Gillian Chung, Cecilia Cheung, Bobo Chan and etc. I remember i read some comments in some forums that say things like that are very common in the west. The commentor had no idea why is it such a big deal when he saw the pics of Edison.

Some parents might say that pics like that are bad influence to their children because it involves celebrities that are suppose to be their examples in life. But then, even if the photos are not of celebrities, sex pics are available everywhere. The saying curiousity kills the cat is practicable in all situation especially when it comes to pronographic stuff. I've been a teen myself. I know how curiousity brought me up. Same goes to the other teens these days. Some who know me in real life should have heard me saying this, "What underage things I never try before?" Of cos not those against the law things that will get me ended up in jail la. But those....erm...those things la...hahaha...

Sex video are all over the market la. Even if they are from celebrities or not, they are still available in the market with just a click away. Sex videos are like detergent. Detergent A got whitening effect and Detergent B don't have but both are still detergent ma. So the same goes to sex videos. Sex video A got celebrities and Sex video B for amateur but both are still sex video ma. Right? Haha...

Earlier this month, there is another sex video released to the public and it is said to be the sex video of one of the models in Malaysia. To be honest, I have not heard of her. Her name is Chye Ting Lih. She was a contestant of Seventeen Cover Girl Search in 2005 at the age of 19 and she is one of The Most Happening Babes on Friendster. Anyway, the sex video was claimed to be hers (I have not seen the video...this weekend maybe?) but from some screen shots i saw in some blogs, I can't even see her face. Why are we so sure that it is her? Maybe I should watch the video before i comment further on the identity of the actress.

Just last week, I was browsing some blogs and I saw this photo of some nude (they claim to be) Malaysian girl sitting on the casino and the nude girl was said to be the granddaughter of the late Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong. Let's see the relation.

Malaysia Girl ---> Casino ---> Genting Highlands ---> the late Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong ---> the Malaysian Girl = the granddaughter of the late Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong.

Roxxor rite? Humans are seriously boundless when it comes to imagination. Below are some confirmation that I need before I believe in the claims made by some bloggers on the nude girl.

  1. Is that girl Malaysian?
  2. Can someone show me the photo of the granddaughter of the late Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong?
  3. Is that casino the casino in Genting Highlands?
  4. If really is Genting Highlands, she not cold meh?
  5. When is that photo taken?
  6. How to take photo in the casino when it is never close?
  7. Can we bring camera into a casino?
  8. If she really lay nude on the casino table, then that table ma very soay? O.o
  9. Please tell me which table is that so i can siam that table....LOL
  10. The main question! What her name? :P

Haha...Just for reading pleasure la. No prejudice towards anyone and the girl. I still respect the late Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong as i read about his success story and it is really amazing and respectable. Moreover I don't see a reason why she should pose nude. As if she need the money la. (=.=) Correct boh?

That's all for now la. See ya in my next post. Enjoy your day!

siam = dodge, move away
soay = bad luck
correct boh? = correct or not?

I Need To Be In Love

I just came back from yum cha (drink tea) with XW and Kate. We went to Wong Kok at ss2. The place where the Teh Peng Frenzy took place. I had busy weekend last 2 weeks. 2 weekends ago i was at Sri Cempaka to be the so called blogger of the day in which till today i still haven't blog about the photo shooting workshop that were held there. I'll do it within this week. I promise. Last weekend, I was at KL Convention Centre. I was helping out at my client's booth. More like kacau (disturb) rather then helping out because i was talking to the sales person most of the time.

I thought I could have a quiet weekend but too just too bad. I'm too happening to enjoy a quiet weekend. My room door had been spoilt for some time. The door knob outside is not working so I'm not supposed to close the room door if I'm not in the room. But last night, around 2am, I went to the kitchen for a drink and I realized that the music from my room is very loud when my door is open. So without even thinking, i closed the door. After that, you can guessed what happen next. I had to wait till the morning before I can get the keys from the owner to open the door. Sigh...

Just before the door incident, a song by Carpenters caught my attention. I was trying to finish my write-up for Ideal Luxuries when suddenly this song played.

This is the song. I Need To Be In Love by Carpenters.

The hardest thing I've ever done is keep believing
There's someone in this crazy world for me
The way that people come and go through temporary lives
My chance could come and I might never know

I used to say "No promises, let's keep it simple"
But freedom only helps you say goodbye
It took a while for me to learn that nothing comes for free
The price I paid is high enough for me

* I know I need to be in love
I know I've wasted too much time
I know I ask perfection of a quite imperfect world
And fool enough to think that's what I'll find

+ So here I am with pockets full of good intentions
But none of them will comfort me tonight
I'm wide awake at 4 a.m. without a friend in sight
I'm hanging on a hope but I'm all right
Enjoy! I'm not in a top form to blog tonite. Words doesn't seem to come out. I know this entry doesn't look juicy. But i hope it didn't bore you. Before I go, anybody wanna come Kl celebrate birthday with me? Haha.... Ciaoz~

I just got home after having another miraculous outing with my bro, JayChuah. As i was still thinking whether should should i blogged about how Jay once again managed to amaze me with his unpredictable acts and expression, something even more worth mentioning appeared. Joyce show me this link. I clicked on it and I was totally SWTing after reading it.

Well, Jay you are safe for tonight but if I still couldn't find any amazement in life to blog about, you might be my main actor again. :D Cheers~

Happening Week

I believe by now a lot of people would have realised that I had a crazy weekend. It was up on my nick in msn. I seriously want to change my hotmail address because it is damn difficult for anyone to relate it to me. Anyway, i had a lot of things in mind. Just that I've got no time to execute any of them at the moment. Maybe i was being to ambitious. Wanting too much yet acting too slow but I'm trying my best.

I have a long list of things to do. I just hate it when someone points it's finger to me and ask me to do when he/she is supposed to do it. Anyway, I will not eleborate much because this entry will soon end up be another controversial and negative post. Haha. Ok. I'm here to say something positive and happy.

My crazy weekend was really crazy. Never had a hotel stay for a long time but this hotel stay is drop dead tiring. Din get any sleep and leisure till almost 2-3am. I wasn't doing much but i have no idea why I feel so tired. Maybe because my weekends are mostly wasted so with this sudden event, my body need time to get used to it. Haha.

Ok. That's all for the moment. I know it doesn't relate to the topic but i got to go do some work as time is running short.
